BC Transit approves 5,000 additional service hours for UVic bus routes from service cuts made last year.

 

The cost of a monthly employee bus pass is going up in April to keep pace with increases announced by BC Transit. New discounted price will be $38.50 ($85 regular price).

Composting Reminder: Please do NOT put plastic bags in the compost totes even if they say "biodegradable" - they are not compost!

 

The new student pizza lunch was a successful "zero waste" event with a 95% waste diversion rate. Congrats to all who made this such a success!

UVic's first Sustainability Awards have been given out! Heather Seymour from Food Services is the winner in the individual UVic Sustainability Champion Award for her amazing work in sustainable food purchasing and production. In the Sustainability Action Team category, the Business & Economics building won for energy conservation and the Fraser building won for waste reduction. Congratulations to our winners and all our sustainability champions across campus!
