THEATRE SKAM—KNOWN
NATIONALLY FOR ITS PROVOCATIVE, wildly entertaining
productions—steps into the Phoenix Theatre’s “Spotlight
on Alumni” in the New Year with its presentation
of Hippies and Bolsheviks, running from January
27 through February 5, 2005.
The comic flashback to the ’70s
by writer and director Amiel Gladstone, BFA ’94,
is based on “what was happening to my parents
(the peace movement, civil rights, rock and roll)
juxtaposed to what we’re going through
in 2004.”
The play coincides with the
tenth anniversary of the company’s founding,
by Gladstone and Matthew Payne, BFA ’93.
