TWO MURALS BY RENOWNED YUKON ARTIST TED HARRISON (above) and which had been affixed to the walls of his former home, are now hanging in the new Social Sciences and Mathematics Building. The murals are a gift from Harrison, who holds an honorary fine arts doctorate from UVic, and were created after he moved to Victoria from the north in 1995. Later this year a biography, Painting Paradise: The Ted Harrison Story by Katherine Gibson, MEd'90, will be released. As well, from September to November, UVic's Legacy Gallery will present a retrospective celebrating Harrison's 40 years as a painter.
