UVic Bike Parking, Racks, and Shelters

Bicycle Parking

Bicycle racks are installed near many buildings on the UVic campus. The racks are placed under overhangs where possible to provide shelter. There are enough racks campus-wide to hold over 2900 bicycles. This is ample to meet demand, however popular destinations within Ring Road such as the McPherson Library and the Petch Building can be crowded. Be considerate when locking up your bike to ensure that you do not damage other bikes.

Bicycle Shelters

Shelters for covered bicycle parking have been installed:

  • by the south wall of the McPherson Library,
  • outside the entrance to the Ian Stewart Complex,
  • behind the Continuing Studies building,
  • in the inner courtyard of the Sedgewick building,
  • near Campus Security by the Transit loop,
  • at the southeast and northeast corners of the MacLaurin Building,
  • near the Fine Arts building,
  • in the Child Care Services area.

No Bicycles in Buildings

It is not university policy to allow bicycles in buildings.
