A/U Committee Report-2005

 

In accordance with Article 3 of the 2004-06 Collective Agreement the A/U Committee continued with its mandate, Òto foster good relations between the two parties and to discuss and attempt to resolve any issue relating to the administration of the AgreementÉÓ  The A/U Committee met monthly, except during bargaining, with chairing/minutes alternating between the parties.  The 2004-05 membership of the committee included:

University of Victoria:

Travel policy - Mileage rates

Professional Development

Bargaining

NOVA

 

This year saw an increase in the maximum funds available from the Central Pro-D fund from $1000 to $1500 for a trial period to 31 December 2005.  The trial period was extended from 31 December 2005 to 31 December 2006 and the maximum funding per application was further increased to $3000 (for specific expenses).  Information on PEA Pro-D funds is available at http://web.uvic.ca/hr/training/peaprofdev.html

 

With the restructuring of Human Resources in April 2005 a number of the HR staff, who work with PEA members, met with the A/U committee.

 

As the NOVA project continues the A/U Committee addresses issues that affect PEA members.
