51 Educational Conference

Cliff will send out a reminder to UVic attendees of the Kelowna Conference. He will suggest that he UVic group meet at the 2:45 refreshment break on Friday.

52 Staff Orientation

Deborah, Tom, and Vincent attended the March 14 staff orientation.

Sheryl suggested we develop an orientation planning document as these sessions seem to be happening around 3 times per year.

6. Reports

61 Treasurer - Vincent:

Coast account balance: $1225

Funds in Easy Account are currently not visable & accessible – there should be $2049. Vincent is looking into this problem. This is likely a year-end processing issue.

Vincent will be applying for the annual chapter grant during April.

62 Labour Relations Officer - Deborah:

Deborah delivered a comprehensive review of her activities.

63 Chapter Committees

631 Local Representatives - Tom:

There is still a local-rep vacancy in Campus Security & the Bookstore.

A local-reps luncheon is being considered for May. Tom will plan via e-mail.

632 Seminars - Sheryl:

A seminar on downsizing in the real estate marked was presented on March 26th.

633 Appointments - John & Vincent:

The appointments comittee appointed Jennifer Moroskat to participate in the Academic Women's Caucus and the UVic Faculty Association discussion on childcare.

The whereabouts of the PEA benefits booklet was discussed.

An appeals meeting is scheduled for April 23rd.
