5.1 Elections Committee

· Has been charged to hold an election for new Exec member

· May be challenging due to PEA Assoc database issue

5.2 Constitutional Amendments

· Discussed and reviewed – recommended several minor text changes for consistency in language

6.1 Treasurer’s Report (Connor)

· Summer Pond Party cost - $2605.76 (see pics on FaceBook)

· Retreat cost - $403.20

· FAST acct = $1986.58

· Coast Capital acct = $4291.91

6.2 Labour Relations Officer (Gorrie)

· Facilities Management is reorganizing – July 13 will be meeting with HR and Fac. Man.

· Issue with member refusing to sign Arbitrator’s ruling. UVic is taking to Supreme Court of BC

· An Employer Grievance is underway – UVic has issue with PEA contract

· Issue around an employee let go from probation

· Purchasing Dept – several positions are moving from CUPE 951 to PEA

· CUPE 4163 – PEA members paid less for teaching positions

o HR is looking into this – long timeline

· Jane Godfrey is new LR for Clearihue to replace Kevin Burns

6.4.4 Employment Equity Advisory Working Group (Kenny):

· Letter sent to Pres. Turpin summarizing concerns brought forth in joint meetings

6.4.6 Mental Health Committee (Ozard) – NTR

6.4.7 Campus Planning Committee (Michaels):

· EDC2 is up and running

6.4.8 Central Pro-D (Klatt) – NTR

· PEA won an award for its tech savvy presence (new website etc.)
