1. MOTION: Connor/Thornton That we approve the agenda. CARRIED.

2. MOTION: Corner/Thornton That we approve the minutes of March 24th CARRIED.

3. Chair's remarks:

Budget letters received and circulated to Exec members
- letter to BoG Chair and letter to President

4. Reports:

4.1 Seminar Committee: (Kovach?)

20 people have signed up for the Public Speaking course
3 stress-management tapes (for May 6,13, 20)

4.2 A/U Committee: (Darling)

a new Chair is required

MOTION: Corner/Thornton That we appoint Berenice Wood Chair of the PEA A/U Caucus. CARRIED.

4.3 Local Representatives Ctte:

lengthy discussion resulted in a set of proposals regarding Local Representatives which will be circulated to whole Exec

4.4 Staff Officer's report (Forde)

Two members not originally enrolled in Pension Plan due to a problem with HR processes. Trying to get them inretroactively
Member suspended 1 day for subordination
Member informed us about a potential contracting out situation, John contacted HR, HR will ask dept to keep it in-house.
Committee Member leaving in June is asking for banked overtime to be paid out at double-time
Member seeking transfer to another department
Member on LTD for next few years at least, temp replacement; HR is asking to extend appointment without competition
3 members in SI changing into "CSI" PEA members (different from the 3 members in Computing Services earlier this year).
Problem with a member who has been absenting him/herself without informing supervisor.
