4. Chair's Remarks:

4.1  An article in recent Monday Magazine re severance package to a PEA member was discussed.

4.2  Executive Summary of "Voices for Change: Racism, Ethnocentrism, and Cultural Insensitivity at the University of Victoria" will be circulated to directors.

4.3  CUPE 917 has applied for changes to their certification re (1) change of name, and (2) description of the bargaining unit.

4.4  Darling attended a recent CUPE 4163 workshop on supervision of bargaining unit members.

5.1 Bargaining Committee (Darling)

Darling reported on bargaining sessions to date. Some minor items have now been signed off.

5.2 Local Representatives

Morag McNeil has resigned as representative for the Begbie and Cornett Buildings. Cooper Little will try to find another rep.

6. Other Ongoing Business:

6.1 CASS Review

The recommendations of the report were discussed. A notice will be posted on the A&AP listserv informing members that this report is available on line at <http://web.uvic.ca/vpfin/cassreview.html> and inviting them to forward comments to Gore or Milner.

6.2 Chapter Website.

Directors have had the opportunity to review the new webpages and feedback was very favourable.

MOTION (Thornton/Cooper Little) That Gore and Darling make the new website live and archive the old pages. CARRIED

8. Proactivity/Goals

8.1 The Executive Retreat will be held at Queenswood House on May 25, 1998, from 8:30 to 4:30. Darling will circulate the agenda.
