Gayle Gorrill, Vice-President Finance and Operations

Effective September 1, 2006 Gayle Gorrill took over the position of Vice-President Finance and Operations at UVic. Prior to this appointment Gayle was Associate Vice-President at the University of Calgary since 2003. While in Calgary she had primary responsibility for the University's budget, the budget planning process and financial services. From 1999 to 2003, she filled executive positions in finance for the Calgary Health Region.

The Vice-President Finance and Operations is a member of the executive group and Chief Financial Officer at the University of Victoria. The Vice-President leads a large and varied portfolio that includes financial, human resources, computing and systems services, security and physical plant functions of the University. The Vice-President is responsible, through department directors, for the overall quality of services, meeting legal and reporting requirements within portfolio areas, deploying resources, and planning improvements that enhance the University's ability to carry out its Mission and Strategic Plan.
