Campus Planning Committee and Facilities Development and Sustainability SubCommittee

In April 2004, UVic's Board of Governors approved a recommendation that the then existing Campus Development Committee be reconstituted into a policy committee and an operations subcommittee. The recommendation came from a review which was conducted as part of the implementation of the 2003 University of Victoria Campus Plan.

The Campus Planning Committee (CPC) is the policy body with a long-term focus,. The operations group is the Facilities Development and Sustainability SubCommittee (FDSS), and focuses more on specific projects. The CPC reports to the president while the FDSS advises both the president and the CPC.

There is cross-membership to assist in communication between the two groups. The CPC is co-chaired by UVic's Vice-President Finance and Operations and Vice-President Academic. In addition to UVic Vice-Presidents, Deans, faculty members, students and staff, it also includes a local member of UVic's Alumni Association.

The FDSS is chaired by the Vice-President Finance and Operations and includes an external planning or architectural professional and a local member of UVic's Alumni Association.
