Campus
Planning Committee |
|

In May 2003, the newly adopted Campus Plan called for a review
of the role and structure of the Campus Development Committee.
The review was initiated by University President and Vice-Chancellor,
Dr. David Turpin, resulted in a report recommending that the Campus
Development
Committee
be split into two separate committees; one Policy Committee and
one Operations Sub-Committee. The report was approved, in principle,
by the University of Victoria Board of Governors at a regular
meeting on February 9, 2004. Shortly after, on April 5, 2004, the
University Operations and Facilities Committee recommended to the
Board of Governors that it approve the creation of the Campus Planning
Committee and the Facilities Development and Sustainability Sub-Committee.
Approval was granted and the two committees were formed.
The Campus Planning Committee (CPC) is advisory
to the President of the University and acts as a policy focused
body with a long-term application.
The Facilities Development and Sustainability Sub-Committee
(FDSS) is advisory to the President of the University,
and to the Campus Planning Committee as required, and acts with
an operations focus. The scope of the FDSS is more narrow than
that of the CPC; it's application is more specific and project-based.
