The Beechy Bay Murder--The settlers of Sooke have petitioned the Governor against a communtaion of the sentence of death on Me-Shak for killing Campbell. Officer McMillin has dispatched to Beechy Bay to search for some property believed to have been stolen from the murdered man's cabin by Me-Shak who now, we understand confesses that he killed Campbell for the purpose of getting his effects.
