Ludwig Erb

Ludwig Erb began his long partnership with Joseph Loewen at the Victoria Brewery in 1870.  Erb took care of the practical side of running the brewery.  Erb came to British Columbia via Bavaria, Austria, Hungary, Poland, Turkey, Romania, and the United States spending time as a practical brewer in each place after he attended Leibig's Brewing College in Munich.  Just before settling in Victoria Erb operated a brewery in Barkerville.
