Recognition Award Nominees

Fifteen amazing women of UVic were celebrated at the 2007 UVic Women’s Conference Nominees Reception held on February 6 at the University Club. Past recipients, the Conference Steering Committee, nominees and guests gathered to listen while Award Committee Chair Michèle Favarger shared a few of the accomplishments of this year’s slate of nominees. Jamie Cassels, Vice-President Academic and Provost, who hosted this event and program presented each nominee with a certificate.

Congratulations to all our 2007 Nominees!

At the Awards Nominees Reception held at the University Club on February 6, 2007, Vice-President Academic and Provost Jamie Cassels told the audience that "this is an important occasion to recognize and honour these nominees who have done so much for UVic". In presenting a certificate to each of the 15 nominees, he praised the members of staff and faculty and students for "going above and beyond, working behind the scenes" to enhance the quality of life at the university.

"We are grateful that they are a part of our community and congratulate them for making it a better place for students and for all of us."
