Jacy Lee
When Jacy Lee joined our group, she was a 2nd year biochemistry undergraduate student from the University of British Columbia. She obtained a NSERC undergraduate summer research scholarship and joined our group during the summer 2007. Jacy worked on the development of patterned substrates containing gold nanoparticles. These substrates are the fist step towards the development of micro-arrays based on surface-enhanced Raman and surface-enhanced fluorescence spectroscopy. Jacy's work was our first steps towards the development of micro-arrays for cancer diagnostic. This is a project that is being realized in collaboration with Xiaobo Duan from the Vancouver Island branch of the BC cancer center.
