I am an Associate Professor in the Department of English at the University of Victoria, where I teach and research medieval literature and culture.  Recent courses have focussed on Chaucer and Gower, London Literature, Objects and Ecologies, Science and Medicine, The Long Fifteenth Century, and Sixteenth-Century Poetry and Prose.  My main interests include premodern rhetoric, poetics, philosophy, technology, ecology, and ethics.
