We’re always looking for opportunities to connect with different parts of the UVic community, be it through academics, clubs or advocacy groups. The gardens are a great site for all kinds of activities from art to entomology. Email ccgarden@uvic.ca if you’re interested in doing a project in the garden.
Environmental Studies 200
Summer 2008:
ES 200 students did tutorial projects in the garden. Their focus was building raised beds and cold frames that were given to elders of the Beecher Bay First Nation. The students also worked on our native plant garden.
Winter 2008:
The ES 200 students did their tutorial projects in the garden. Thank you to all the students who were part of this project!
Some of the results of their hard work are: new compost bins, a cold frame, a raised bed, a driftwood bench, bee and bird habitats, a rainwater collection system, a native plant garden, vegetable seedlings, a new coat of paint on the picnic table and an improved entrance way.
