Chemistry 102 - Fundamentals of Chemistry: II

Welcome to the webpages for Chem102. Navigate around this site using the links at the left-hand side of each page.

Your course letter grade for Spring 2012 will likely appear in your USource transcript by Monday 30 April.

Now that the grades are finalized, the exams have been shipped to Records Services for storage. You can view your exam there after some date set by Records Services, about May 22nd.
Exam Viewing Link Click Here

If you go to check your exam, you should check the addition of marks. If an error of addition of marks is found, it can easily be corrected. If you think your exam has not been marked fairly then you can pay the Records Services fee and have the exam re-marked by an independent third party. The result of that process stands, whether it is higher, lower, or the same. We do not go over exams and we do not arbitrarily change grades.

- You are reminded of the requirement to pass the lecture part and the lab part of the course separately (i.e. independently).

The final letter grade will appear in your USource on-line transcript within about 24 hours of when it has been submitted to Records Services.

  • Get information on the grading of the course, including rules concerning missed tests and exams.
    • the course data sheet (), provided to you in midterms and final exam
    • more about the final exam, held in April
    • midterm tests, including answer guides for past midterm tests
    • online quizzes are given and completed via Mastering Chemistry. See the OnLine Quizzes page.
    • Note that the only calculator you will be permitted to use in midterm tests and in the final exam is the Sharp EL-510R
  • There are lots of places you can go for help, including:
    • the drop-in centre (Elliott Landing) for help with (mostly) laboratory-related problems
    • learn how to problem solve by watching how your instructors do it - a (new!) virtual approach
    • the study advice page, which also tells you what you can expect to learn from the course
    • ... and naturally, your instructor's office hours.
