Filling a need

Campus Security maintains the University motorpool. There are vehicles available for short- and long-term rentals to UVic staff and faculty engaged in University business.

If you are a student who occasionally needs a vehicle, look into the Victoria Car Share Co-op, which has a Honda Civic on campus and five more vehicles in the Greater Victoria region.

Vehicles available

Our rental units include mini-vans, with seating for 8 people, including the driver. A standard Class 5 licence is required.

Also available is a new 2006 Toyota Prius hybrid car.

How it works

Rentals are based upon a first come, first serve basis. To reserve a motorpool vehicle, a "Request for Rental Vehicle" form, which may be obtained from the Campus Secuirity office, must be filled out and submitted to Campus Security.

Charges for the motorpool vehicles are based upon length of rental and milage driven. Gas and insurance are included in the rental charge.
