Parking at UVic

There is a colour-coded system for parking on campus: Blue areas are for "General" parking and red areas are for "Reserved" parking. Each parking area on campus is clearly defined by colour-coded signs.

General parking is found in all of the numbered lots outside of Ring Road. All of the lettered parking lots inside of Ring Road are designated as Reserved and are not open for General use until after 4:30 p.m. weekdays, and on Saturdays and Sundays.

User-pay parking is available in all main campus lots 24 hours / day from Monday to Saturday. There is no charge for parking on Sunday or Statutory Holidays.

At the Ian Stewart Complex and University Centre Parkade, pay parking is in effect 24 hours/day, 7 days/week.

Prices:

Day permits and hourly parking are available from dispensers at a rate of $1.25/hour to a maximum of $7/day. There is a flat $2.00 fee to park from 6:00 PM to Midnight Monday to Friday and a flat $2.00 fee to park 24 hours on Saturday.
Dispensers for day permits are conveniently located in all numbered lots outside Ring Road, including the Ian Stewart Complex lot. They accept quarters, $1 coins, $2 coins, Visa and Mastercard.
Day permit holders may park in any General Parking stall indicated by the blue signs
Parking meters are available in most lots. They accept quarters and $1 and 2$ coins.
A prepaid value card is available from Campus Security Services. The cost of this card is $24 This card is used at designated permit dispensers in lieu of cash or credit card.

Permits not required on Sundays: all lots except the Ian Stewart Complex and University Centre parkade

Permits not required on statutory holidays: all lots

	General parking is available to everyone including students, staff/faculty and visitors.
	Flexible General parking is available to full time employees only. Flexible permits are sold for the Sept – Aug permit year and holders may park up to 12 times per calendar month.
	Reserved parking is open only to full-time staff/faculty members and Commercial visitors who have purchased Reserved permits.
	Flexible Reserved parking is available to full time employees only. Flexible permits are sold for the Sept – Aug permit year and holders may park up to 12 times per calendar month.

	Disabled parking spaces are located in numerous lots around campus.
	Motorcycle and licensed scooter operators are required to purchase parking permits and park in the designated motorcycle parking areas found in most lots.
	Student Residence ('RZ') permits Located only in Lot 1 and Lot 5. The RZ areas are reserved 24/7 from September through April to ensure students living in residence have a designated area to park their vehicles.
	Rideshare parking spaces are reserved for holders of Rideshare permits arriving at the parking space with three or more people in the vehicle until 10 a.m. Monday to Friday. After that time, the stall is open to regular General Parking
	Carpool parking spaces are available for carpool permit holders.
