Welcome to ECON 203—Intermediate Microeconomics I. This intermediate microeconomics course is designed to reinforce and expand your understanding of the basic microeconomic theory. In the beginning of the course, we will examine the two fundamental microeconomics topics: the consumer theory and producer theory. Later, we will shift our focus toward market competition with the introduction of monopoly, oligopolistic and monopolistic competition. An introduction of the basic game theory will conclude our course.
As you will soon notice, much of the material introduced in Econ 103 will be revisited. However, you will also notice that Econ 203 emphasizes on the technique besides the results. Our goal is to master the basic tools used by many economists, and to be able to apply these in a variety of contexts to set up and solve economic problems. |
