This is a windows program (written in Visual Basic v. 6), complete with instructions. For face-centred cubic crystals, it reproduces the spot pattern that would be photographed by a back-Laue camera for a user-chosen film distance. The user must tentatively identify two spots to define the crystal orientation, e.g., using a Greninger net. (See Elizabeth Wood's classic "Crystal Orientation Manual" for more details.) The complete pattern for that orientation is then calculated. Spots may be chosen by the mouse to see their hkl indices. The program can print out the spot pattern in actual size on the default printer, and can produce a file listing the spot indices and coordinates.
