EQIP is a joint initiative of the BC Ministry of Health, the BC Medical Association (BCMA) and the University of British Columbia Faculty Medicine’s, Department of Anesthesiology, Pharmacology and Therapeutics, BC Chair in Patient Safety.

The purpose of EQIP is to provide physicians with educational tools to support better prescribing practices. The program focuses on improving prescribing practices that will in turn improve health outcomes for patients and result in evidence-based savings for the health care system.

All of EQIP’s initiatives are grounded in clinical evidence and based on best practices. Where the project generates savings to the system, these will be reinvested in other initiatives for quality improvement of primary care.
