Qualicum Conference 2009 004

Each year, near the end of January, the University of Victoria, Simon Fraser University, and the University of British Columbia sponsor the Qualicum History Conference in Parksville, B.C. Graduate students from the Pacific Northwest and across the continent gather to exchange ideas, share original research, and socialize with fellow students and faculty.

The 2011 Qualicum History Conference call for papers is available here:

The Graduate History Review

We are pleased to announce the re-launch of the graduate student history journal at the University of Victoria under a new name,
The Graduate History Review.
The Graduate History Review has previously been published as Preteritus: A Graduate History Journal. Preteritus featured research presented at the annual Qualicum History Conference, and highlighted the work of grad students in British Columbia.

With the launch of
The Graduate History Review, we are excited to announce that we will be accepting submissions from graduate students across Canada and the United States (and beyond!). Submissions will be accepted beginning in January 2011 for the Fall 2011 issue. We will be accepting submissions from students working in all areas and fields of history.

The Graduate History Review is now accepting submissions.  We welcome original and innovative research from scholars working in all areas of history.
Authors have the option of submitting either a Research Article or a Research Note. Information about these submission formats can be found
here. Author guidelines are available as well.

We accept submissions on an ongoing basis, but submissions received before April 30, 2011, will be considered for publication in the Fall 2011 issue of the GHR.
