Iran is an elevated plateau with an average height of over 3000 feet above sea level. The central desert plateau is surrounded by tall chains of mountains, giving it an almost bowl like shape. The population of Iran is over 70 million. Tehran has a population of almost 11, 000, 000 people and is the capital of Iran. Industries include manufacturing, cars, electronic and electrical equipment, textiles and sugar.
