In English, we often squish words together. We don't speak clearly in normal, casual speech. The exercises below are designed to help you practise distinguishing the words that get squished together into reductions such as "wanna", "gonna" and more. You don't have to speak like this, but you need to understand this casual speech. However, if you do speak like this, you can reduce your accent and sound more like a native speaker.

The learning materials for Jason's World include an audio CD, and a student workbook or teacher's manual, both of which come with an answer key. The University of Victoria’s specially developed audio series, which includes Jason's World and Judy's World (for upper intermediate/low advanced ESL students) was created for classroom and language lab use to provide students with the opportunity to practise their listening skills, increase their vocabulary, and discuss important and controversial social issues.
Features:
Jason's World tells the story of Jason, a university student who experiences various problems, pressures, challenges and successes. Issues raised in the story include relationship difficulties, plagiarism, depression, suicide, sexually-transmitted infections, parental pressures, drugs, homesickness, honesty, trust, renting an apartment, and work and school issues, and more.
