Executive Board

The five member Executive Board is responsible for determining society policy and representing the interests of graduate students to the university, through lobbying senior administration and serving on university committees. Grad students elect five representatives to the Executive Council each Spring: a Chair and Directors of Communications, Finance, Services, and Student Affairs. The term of office is from April 1 to March 31. The Executive Council works with the society’s staff, who oversee the day-to-day operations of the organization and ensure that the society’s budget and policies are being implemented.

Elections to the Executive Board are held annually in March. To run for office you must submit a nomination form signed by no less than ten (10) current members of the Society. Voting is conducted electronically via the University’s webvote system. Watch for nomination information in February on our website or contact the Executive Director at gssmgr[at]uvic.ca
