Lesson 9

1. - What was the weather like, usually, in Cortina d'Ampezzo?
    - It was very cold and it was snowing.
    - And what is the weather like today?
    - It is clear and sunny.

2. Every Wednesday we would write to each other by e-mail. I was always very happy to receive his letters.

6. - We are going to the movies with you this evening, right?
    - With us? No, because we have to go to Mario's (house).
    - Why are you going to his place?
    - Because he needs help; he can't do anything by himself!

7. - These medieval letters are not for you (pl.); they are for them. This one is for him and that one is for her.
    - Not even one for me?! No! However, this hug is for you!

8. My parents were always very busy at the academy. Painting was their life! Sometimes they didnšt show me a lot of affection. I would spend a lot of time by myself.
