UVic Hearts and Hands Craft Fair

The UVic Hearts and Hands Craft Fair is organized by faculty and staff volunteers. It is a juried fair for faculty, staff and students. It takes place in the University Centre, and all table fees and raffle proceeds go to the United Way and the Vancouver Island Human Rights Coalition. This year it is Tuesday the 16th of November.

The event needs a website for promotion, and also to get more crafters involved. In coming years, crafters could apply online, find information and updates. It would be a good resource to send to the media for promotion. Prospective customers could find out what types of crafts will make up this year's fair, maybe each crafter could have a profile of their work on the site.

The intended audience would be prospective crafters (UVic faculty, staff, and students) and prospective customers. Prospective customers can be divided into two groups: the faculty, staff, and students, and outside customers. The website would bring in more outside customers, as posters on campus would inform the UVic community. The outside customers would most likely be women, retired, unemployed or self-employed, as the fair is on a weekday in working hours.
