Our group is currently under development. If you are a chemist who likes math and physics, or any combination of the three, than this is the place for you! Research in the Paci group involves both formal development and computer programming.
Positions Available:
A postdoctoral position in theoretical / computational chemistry is available immediately in the research group of Irina Paci at the University of Victoria, British Columbia. The research involves the development and application of hybrid multi-scale methods for the treatment of self-assembly processes and complex materials' electro-optical properties. Experience in either electronic structure or statistical mechanical methods is required. Applicants must have experience in programming, in particular using FORTRAN. More information can be obtained by e-mail (ipaci at uvic.ca). Interested candidates should send a CV, including a publication list, and the contact information of three references, to Irina Paci (preferably by e-mail).
A number of projects involving the development of new methodologies for simulations of interfacial chemistry and physics are available to prospective graduate students. Interested students can contact me directly to discuss possible projects. A formal application to Graduate Admissions will also have to be made.
Undergraduate students interested in joining the group have a few avenues: the Chem 499/498 courses at UVic, summer research and even possible part-time Research Assistantships. Contact me if you are interested in any of these possibilities.
