| The
British Columbia Archives Action Group is an active organization
of historians, researchers, journalists, genealogists, and students
founded in 1995. The members of the group have a professional
or personal interest in the preservation of government records
for historical use and in the maintenance and restoration of
an effective and efficient public archive in the Province.
The group lobbies the BC Archives, the Provincial Government
and other organizations on issues that concern archives users,
including matters concerning Freedom of Information legislation.
On matters of general concern it also assists researchers
who are making appeals to the archives, the Freedom of Information
Commissioner or other organizations.
