Between 1867 and 1869 a small community on Saltspring Island was the scene of three seemingly unconnected murders. All the victims were members of the island's Black community; all the murder were blamed on Aboriginal people.
Two of the murders were unsolved. In the case of William Robinson an all-White jury found an Aboriginal man, Tshuanahusset guilty and sentenced him to death.
