Horde webmail is comprised of a framework, plus several modules. The modules installed at Brentwood are:

Guide to customizing horde

This is a short guide of customizations you may want to make to your preferences for a better Horde experience. I have configured the defaults as the best setup for a broad range of users, but you may want to make some (or all) of the following adjustments.

Horde

Instead of a blank page when you log in, set up a summary layout

Check for mail more or less often

IMP (mail)

Set up fetching of other accounts

You can fetch any POP or IMAP email source and drop it into your Brentwood webmail. Common uses include checking Shaw or Telus mail directly through this interface.

Note that other webmail services (such as Hotmail, Gmail, Excite mail and Yahoo mail) will probably not work.

Turn on message previews

Message previews allow you to see the first line or two of messages in your mailbox. It is disabled by default because it slows down bringing up folders slightly, and puts an additional load on the IMAP server. Mail previews look like this:

Configure a different default sorting method

Set up a virtual folder

Email address automatic expansion

You can configure Horde to automatically expand entries from your address book when composing email. You could type in To: "garv" and it would automatically expand to John Garvey.

Ingo (filters)

Set up filters

You can also add addresses to your whitelist and blacklist from the mailbox view. Check the messages you would like to white or blacklist, and click the corresponding option (beside Delete).

Turba (address book)

Directory Search

The address book in Horde supports searching through the entire Brentwood directory.
