OVERVIEWWOOFER TWEETERRAVENJOBSPROGRESS
Woofer Tweeter Progress

Woofer Tweeter Status

  • Optical alignment is done
  • The computer and software architecture is ready
  • Most of he control algorithms have been written and validated with simulation
  • All the hardware components are now integrated on the bench
  • Preliminary simulation and validation against real hardware in progress
  • Characterization of deformable mirrors is in progress

Woofer Tweeter Plan

  • For September/October 2005:
    • Woofer and tweeter integration
    • WFS, tip-tilt, woofer and tweeter calibrations and tests
    • First closed-loop runs (without the real-time pipeline)
  • Until January-February 2006
    • Real-time closed-loop runs with the different control algorithms and final report

Woofer-Tweeter follow on tests

  • MCAO upgrade:
    • Conjugation of the woofer in altitude
    • Test of MCAO control algorithms (tomographic reconstruction)
  • High order tweeter upgrade:
    • Tests in true condition of control algorithms for XAO and MCAO with ELTs
