Annual Budget
The LSS’s sources of revenue are as follows:
- A percentage of fees collected from law students, deposited each semester, of approximately $7400
- A donation from University Publishers, a company that publishes a law student directory and arranges for the publication of the annual yearbook
- Locker rentals
- A percentage of student membership fees from the Canadian Bar Association
- Occasional ad-hoc donations or sponsorships
The LSS’s budget goes towards
- Funding law school clubs
- Intramural sports
- Law school graduation event
- Social events around the law school
- Forums and conferences
- Maintaining the appliances in the student lounge
Note that the First Year Orientation is paid for by external fundraising
