I chose to create a site about David Suzuki because my first choice of writing about the Dali Lama was taken. David Suzuki seemed like an adequate substitute. I chose to incorporate lots of green colours and images of nature in my site, symbolic of Suzuki’s commitment to respecting nature. In order to get a full understanding of Suzuki’s character, I felt it was necessary to explore his youth and education. His broadcasting career played a significant role in providing him national attention, and Suzuki has won a vast number of awards over his many years in the public spotlight. Both these categories must be included in a biographical site of Suzuki. I included a section on his family purely for interests’ sake, for any readers who want to know more about the man behind all his work.
I think that the green on the black background is very visually appealing, and I was quite happy with the look of my image map. I had trouble creating a horizontal CCS navbar and had to improvise to get it completed. My greatest technical difficulties arose when I would make changes to my template and the changes would not occur the same as they appeared on the template. Images would appear randomly on subsequent pages and no one was able to explain why. I was forced to recreate all my content pages each time I modified my template.
