Now Accepting Creative Nonfiction Submissions via Submittable!
As of October 15, 2014, The Malahat Review is accepting regular creative nonfiction submissions using Submittable, an online submission management system. Hard copies of creative nonfiction sent to our office will no longer be read or processed.
Here’s the skinny:
- A Submittable account is free and it's easy to join. Unlike other literary journals, we don't charge writers a "reading fee" to submit their work using Submittable.
- With Submittable, keep track of all your literary journal submissions using a streamlined interface.
- The Malahat Review reads all year, which means online submissions are ongoing. No more paper, envelopes, stamps, tracking numbers... Don’t hesitate to send us your work!
- A single CNF submission should be between 1,000 - 3,500 words, any subject, any style. CNF can include the personal essay, memoir, narrative nonfiction, social commentary, travel writing...
- Currently we are not accepting fiction or contest entries through Submittable. The option to send works of fiction will become available in January 2015.
- Full submission details can be read on our website.
- Questions? Email us, and we'll be happy to answer: malahat@uvic.ca
