Paper Poetry Submissions No Longer Accepted as of October 1
As of October 1, 2014, The Malahat Review will no longer be reading paper / hard copy submissions of poetry that arrive in the mail. If you still wish to send us poems, all envelopes must be date stamped September 30.
Instead of snail mail, try Submittable. It's an easy, online submission system that lets you keep track of all the work you send out to literary magazines. This means no more paper, envelopes, stamps, tracking numbers... just type, click and send!
Here’s the skinny:
- A Submittable account is free and it's easy to join. Unlike other literary journals, we don't charge writers a "reading fee" to submit their work using Submittable.
- With Submittable, keep track of all your literary journal submissions using a streamlined interface
- A single submission consists of 3-5 poems, 6 pages maximum
- Response time on poetry is normally 3 months via email
- Currently we are not accepting fiction, nonfiction, or contest entries through Submittable. The option to send fiction will become available in 2015, with nonfiction entries being accepted via Submittable as of October 15, 2014.
- Full submission details can be read on our website.
