On Tuesday, May 3rd we celebrated our Spring 2011 issue, #174 with readings from the issue and from a couple of our board members.

Assistant Editor Rhonda Batchelor began the evening with a reading from Michael Larson's "The Woods." We then heard from two of our 2011 Open Season Award winners (in poetry and creative nonfiction). Cynthia Woodman Kerkham read her award-winning poem, "Late Summer in Frederick Arm," and Philip Huynh read from "The Investment on Dumfries Street." Fiction board member Iain Higgins read some of his non-fiction and poetry, and Patrick Friesen read from his poems that appear in the Spring issue. The evening ended with former Creative Nonfiction board member Barbara Stewart reading from her book, "Campie," which will be released by Heritage House in Fall, 2011.
