Tomatoes are an interesting crop to grow. Here in Victoria, because of humidity, they tend to be affected by late blight. To keep the moisture off the leaves and get them enough air at the same time, we cover them using a construction of PVC pipe and clear plastic. In

2001, we grew three different types of tomatoes. Under this cover, there were was an early type and my favorite, 'long keeper'. They got their name because you can harvest them late and then they keep in your basement until January or February.
