Today was the first day of ÒbricolageÓ for the kids.  Some of them didnÕt have their materials, others were looking for tools.  The traditional messy first day.

Ken is not of much help when it comes to organizing the class.

I was quite surprised about Aslam who had no idea what so ever what to do with his pulley.  He asked me how he could support it.  It was a surprise, for afterall, he had participated quite intensively during the whole-class discussion on the pulleys.

Another quite surprising request came from Shamir who asked me for pulleys: as if I had promised any, or could pull them from my sleeves.

During the final questioning session, there where few answers to the question about problems encountered today.  The problems mentioned by the students all related to missing tools or materials.  On the other hand, none mentioned wait times around the working table, or the fact that they could not get to it.

Too much time gets lost transporting the materials back and forth, and in setting up during class time.  Especially on this Wednesday when we only have 50 minutes to begin with.  Maybe I need to plan other types of lessons for these days.
