Rozita's Thesis Question

I tried to develop a concrete question based on the power of storytelling in higher education.

1- How can educators improve the imagination and critical thinking of art students by incorporating storytelling?

The previous question seemed very broad, so I condensed the question by asking:

2- How can post-secondary art students improve their creativity by digital storytelling?

Again, this sounded too broad. I had to indicate specific culture, since telling story has a significant connection with cultures. I changed my question into:

3- How has storytelling been used in Iran as educational tool for millennia and how has it helped preserve Iran’s art and culture?

Even the above question seemed very general. I summarized it to:

4- Detail how Iranian women have used storytelling as an educational tool to pass their art and culture to the next generation?

I found the above question a bit far from academic education and closer to adult education. I had to change it to:

5- How can Iranian educators blend the feminine role of storytelling and turn it into a strong instructive instrument to educate post-secondary art students? Or: How do the myths and stories of female Iranian legends educate today’s generation to view the women in their society as influential and praiseworthy? (Shahnameh being a great example)

Hypothesis: Shahnameh (The Epic of Kings) was written by Ferdowsi, as a present for his eight-year-old daughter. He started writing the Shahnameh as a project which he spent some thirty-three years of his life completing.

This can serve as an excessive example of how culture is delivered through generations from the darkest times of the history of Iran to its present state.
