Indigenous Student Mini- University Summer Camp
The Indigenous Student Mini-University Summer Camp gives Indigenous students in Grades 8 to 12 a taste of university life, including academic, physical, creative, cultural, and social activities. It’s a great way to learn about the benefits of a post-secondary education and to envision options for the future. Participant accommodations and meals are covered during this holistic 5 day experience in July. Science Venture
Science Venture’s innovative programs for students in grades 1 through 12 are operated through the Faculty of Engineering and Science. In July and August, instructors develop and teach eight weeks of science, engineering, and technology summer camps that are based at UVic. Summer Fun
UVic’s Summer Fun program is for children who have completed at least Grade 1 and up to completion of Grade 7. Running during July and August, the program involves a different theme each week with suitable activities to develop the theme, including arts and crafts, board games, music and drama, out-trips into the community, and recreational activities. Vikes Summer Camps
During the months of July and August, Vikes offers a number of programs for local children at UVic. Some activities included are basketball, volleyball, and soccer camps, racquet sports camps in tennis and squash, as well as mini-university camps which introduce children 8 to 14 years of age to selected university subjects (i.e., theatre, astronomy).
