Summer 2012 Undergraduate Advising
Undergraduate advising
Most questions about the requirements for the undergraduate programs in Political Science can be answered through the links below. Questions concerning general admissions requirements and transfer credits should be directed to the University Admissions office. Questions concerning University requirements should be directed to the Advising Centre for Humanities, Science and Social Sciences. Inquiries about individual courses in Political Science should be directed to the relevant instructor.
If your question cannot be addressed through any of the above means, please contact a Political Science Undergraduate Advisor by email or during his/her office hours:
Janni Aragon, SSM A308, jaragon@uvic.ca
Warren Magnusson, SSM A341, wmagnus@uvic.ca
The Department of Political Science is happy to offer a multitude of courses in the upcoming summer 2012 term! The course list will be available to be downloaded or viewed on our website February 2012; please see the University Calendar or the Class Schedule Search for details.
Graduate advising
Dr. Oliver Schmidtke, the Graduate Advisor gradpol@uvic.ca, tel. 250-853-3527, SSM A320 will go over your program plan, and give you some advice about selecting courses, arranging for thesis supervision, and planning your work for the year ahead. The Graduate Advisor must approve your program before it is registered with Graduate Studies. Any changes to an approved program require permission. So, it's good to establish contact early and maintain it during your time as a student. The Graduate Advisor is there to help you get through the program if you face a crisis of some sort or just want some general advice.
