Over the years I've spent time taking photographs of Aikidoka at club practices, seminars and camps. Since it seems like I'll never get them organized into binders (to bore visiting friends) I've decided to put them up on the net (to not only bore a whole bunch of people at once but I figure I'll keep more friends this way.) These photos are not presented to give primacy to any particular style or sensei I've come across in Aikido - they're simply to be enjoyed for (hopefully) capturing "instants" of an art I feel very deeply about ... or just provide a good laugh!

Since I have limited storage space, the pictures available will regularly change as I rotate listings and create new scans. If there is something I have/had or you have that you would like to see posted, please e-mail me a note or write a real letter.
I've had comments from the more shy/private aikidoka who said they're not sure yet how they feel about being posted on a web page for everyone to see. I never even considered this! So if I get a picture up which you'd rather I didn't show publicly, please send me a note (with an explanation and your e-mail address) and I'll see what I can do. (Remember, it's sometimes takes a while for me to get around to updating these pages so please be patient.) .... Ditto if you'd like to be posted about potential pictures of you going up on these pages (I'll try.)
Just in case you don't know, to download these pictures to your harddrive:
Or... do your usual surfing and then look in your Browser's cache or temp file.
If you would like to get a hold of an actual negative or photo, please e-mail (pplewes@uvic.ca) or write me and we probably can work something out. (p.s. I pretty disorganized so it may take some time - and gentle reminders - to get this stuff from me but I'm always happy to do this.)

I'm not going to chase anyone down for using these photos for non-profit use - especially in the promotion of Aikido. (However, bad karma may follow you if you don't give credit where it's due!) If you intend to use any of these images in any form for profit of any sort... that is another story. Please contact me before doing so... I'm a usually a very generous and reasonable person when asked nicely.
