Membership deadline: Jan. 25, 2013 - Apply now
Eligible members are:
Undergraduates who have:
* If you have submitted the paperwork to become a psychology major but have not yet been officially declared a psychology major, please simply make a note to that effect on your Psi Chi application; if you meet the other criteria then you will be accepted pending completion of the declaration process.
OR
Graduate students who have:
If you meet the membership criteria above and would like to join Psi Chi, please submit the following to Steve Lindsay (c/o the Department of Psychology main office):
The membership form says $45 and this has caused some confusion. On top of the $45 membership fee to Psi Chi our local chapter also collects $15. One cheque made out for $60, as per the guidelines near the bottom of this page, is required with your application form.
Note that under "Classification" you should tick either Junior (if you have a third-year standing) or Senior (if you have a fourth-year standing)
Under "Psychology Courses Taken to Date" please list all university-level courses (from UVic or elsewhere), as well as any courses that you currently have in progress.
Please leave the last two sections (the last five lines) underneath the "GPA" and "Applicant | Signature" boxes blank; rather than providing the names of others who might be interested in joining Psi Chi, please direct them toward this website.
Please leave the "Date Inducted to Psi Chi" box blank. We will fill that in once the induction ceremony has been scheduled.
Unless you are a member of Psi Beta (which is another honours society for psychology students, oriented toward junior colleges and limited to the US), check "No" beside that question.
