Zehr Sensei has trained in martial arts since his early teen years. Since that time he has attained the following certifications and ranks:

2012 Appointed as Yuishinkai "Branch Chief" for Canada

2012 Promoted to San-Dan in Yuishinkai

2010 Promoted to Ni-Dan in Yuishinkai

2005 Promoted to San-Dan in Ryukyu Kobujutsu

2000 Promoted to Ni-Dan in Ryukyu Kobujutsu

2000 Promoted to Yon-Dan in Chito-Ryu Karate

1998 Awarded "Shidoin" title in Chito-Ryu Karate

1996 Promoted to Sho-Dan in Ryukyu Kobujutsu

1993 Promoted to San-Dan in Chito-Ryu Karate

1990 Promoted to Ni-Dan in Chito-Ryu Karate

1986 Promoted to Sho-Dan in Chito-Ryu Karate.

Zehr Sensei is also Professor of Kinesiology & Neuroscience at the University of Victoria, and is author of the popular science and martial arts books Becoming Batman: The Possibility of a Superhero and Project Superhero.

Formal training is held every Wednesday at L’Ecole Brodeur (637 Head Street) in the Multipurpose room.

Karate training is from 6:30-7:30 PM and kobujutsu from 7:30-8:30 PM. Also, during the 7:30-8:30 period there is opportunity for additional karate practice.

Additional kobujutsu training is also held once per week (on various mornings) on the University of Victoria grounds.
