University Consortium

The Human Early Learning Partnership (HELP) is an interdisciplinary research network of faculty, researchers and graduate students from British Columbia's six major universities. Led by Dr. Clyde Hertzman, HELP facilitates the creation of new knowledge, and helps apply this knowledge by working directly with government and communities. HELP works in partnership with, and receives core funding from, the BC Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD).

HELP sponsors research forums and discussions on interdisciplinary approaches to the study of child development. These seminars are attended by Affiliates from UBC, SFU, UVic, UNBC, TRU and UNB Okanagan - including faculty, research scientists, post-doctoral fellows and graduate students. From time to time, the seminar portion of these meetings is opened up to the public, especially where topics are of interest to those who work in communities and in government.
