David: What The Qur'an Says
What The Qur'an
also says about:
[The following are but three of the prominent excerpts concerning the Prophet David.]

"... call to mind Our servant David, a man of great power, who turned constantly to Us. We subjected the people of the mountains to him. They celebrated Allah's praise with him morn and eve. We had also gathered round him the high-soaring ones; they were all inclined towards Allah. We made his kingdom strong, and bestowed upon him wisdom and decisive judgement.... We commanded him: David, We have made thee vicegerent in the earth; so judge between people with justice, and follow not vain desire, lest it should lead thee astray from the way of Allah."
- Chapter 38, Verses 16-27

"We bestowed Our grace upon David... and We taught him the art of smelting iron ore. We commanded him: Fashion full-length coats of mail, and keep their rings small; and act righteously, all of you."
- Chapter 34, Verses 11-2

"We exalted some of the Prophets over the others and We gave David the Psalms."
- Chapter 17, Verse 56
